Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga after defeating Real Betis 5–3 in a chaotic, end-to-end encounter at the Estadio Benito Villamarín on Saturday evening.

The champions were in control for most of the match, powered by a stunning hat-trick from Ferran Torres, but still had to withstand a late push from the hosts.

Barcelona were sharp from the start, carving open Betis repeatedly and racing into a commanding lead as Ferran struck three times, with further goals coming from Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford’s involvement in multiple attacking moves.

Betis struggled to contain Barcelona’s front line for much of the night, though moments of defensive uncertainty kept the game alive.

The home side rallied in the closing stages, scoring twice in the final minutes through Llorente and a Hernandez penalty after Jules Koundé conceded a spot-kick.

The late surge cut Barcelona’s advantage to two goals, but the visitors held firm to secure the win. Despite the defeat, Betis fans roared their team on until the end, drawing encouragement from the spirited finish.
