FG Allocates N460m for State House Foodstuffs, Other Utilities in 2024 Appropriation Bill

The Federal Government has set aside the sum of N460,217,071 for the State House’s “Materials and Supplies” in the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

Out of this allocation, N253,277,638 will be spent on foodstuffs and catering materials.

Other items under the subhead include foodstuffs, stationeries, newspapers, and books, among others.

This is according to the Appropriation Bill document released by the Budget Office of the Federation on Wednesday.

Okay.ng reports that the budget was presented by President Bola Tinubu to a joint session of the National Assembly on November 29.

Tinubu had christened the appropriation bill the “Budget of Renewed Hope.”

Below is a section of the document that contains the Presidency’s allocation for State House’s Materials and Supplies:

Office stationeries/computer consumables 66,719,333

Books 6,427,173

Newspapers 21,296,484

Magazines & Periodicals 3,379,524

Printing of Non-Security Documents 24,303,149

Printing of Security Documents 11,349,170

Drugs & Medical Supplies 63,882,198

Uniforms & Other Clothing 9,582,402

Food Stuff/Catering Materials Supplies 253,277,638

Electricity bill 260,800,000

Additional Expenses

In addition to the allocation for materials and supplies, the Federal Government also budgeted N260.8 million for electricity bills and N50 million for internet access charges for the State House.

The budget revealed that N372 million was earmarked for utilities, part of which are the electricity and internet access charges.

Other utility expenses include telephone charges at N4.4 million; water rates at N30 million; and sewerage charges at N26 million.

The 2024 budget also revealed that N217 million was allocated for fuel and lubricants at the State House.

Details show that N148 million is earmarked for motor vehicle fuel costs, N37 million for plant/generator fuel costs, and N31 million for cooking gas.
