The Federal Government has announced that air travellers no longer need to show proof of COVID-19 testing or wear face masks, regardless of vaccination status.

The announcement was made in a letter from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to all airline operators in the country, which was seen by Okay.ng.

According to the letter, signed by NCAA Director-General Musa Nuhu, pre-departure and post-arrival COVID-19 PCR tests are no longer required for all passengers. This means that passengers will no longer need to present proof of testing before or after their flights.

However, the NCAA did note that passengers with severe illness may still be required to wear face masks while travelling. This exception is in place to protect the health and safety of other passengers and airline staff.
