FG Appoints Leaders for new Nigerian Tertiary Institutions

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government has inaugurated principal officers for newly established tertiary institutions as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s higher education system and expand access to quality learning opportunities.

Okay News reports that the inauguration was performed in Abuja by the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, who also unveiled the leadership of the National Commission for Colleges of Education.

According to the minister, the appointments cover key positions at the Federal University of Science and Technology Epe located in Epe and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic Abuja. He said the institutions were created to help address pressing national and global challenges such as food security, climate change, renewable energy and technological advancement.

Alausa added that the Federal Government remains committed to strengthening teacher education through the NCCE by improving governance across colleges of education and promoting higher academic standards nationwide.

The Federal Ministry of Education also reiterated its commitment to enhancing institutional leadership and implementing policies aimed at improving the quality and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
