The Federal Government has declared Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of December, 2014 as Public Holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations.

This was contained in a statement made public today, December, 18, 2014, Thursday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Eng. Abubakar Magaji.

According to the statement, Thursday January 1st, 2015 has also been declared a public holiday to mark the New Year.

The Minister of Interior, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, also used the medium to urge all Christian faithfuls and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Christmas to their daily living and contribute to the development of the nation.

“Comrade Abba Moro further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country,” the statement said.

The minister, the statement added, wished all Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year celebrations.
