The Federal Government has announced the postponement of the 2023 population census to May 2023.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, made this known on Wednesday in Abuja after the Federal Executive Council meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He explained that the decision to postpone the census was due to the rescheduling of the governorship elections from March 11 to March 18.

Speaking further, the Minister revealed that the FEC has also approved the Nigeria Agenda 2050, a development plan aimed at increasing real GDP growth by seven per cent, creating 165 million new jobs, and reducing the number of people living in poverty to 2.1 million by 2050.
