FG to Meet with Labour to Prevent Protest Over New Minimum Wage

FG, the Federal Government are set to meet with the Organised Labour so as to prevent a nationwide protest over the proposed new minimum wage.

Chris Ngige revealed this in a statement made available to Okay Nigeria by by Mr Samuel Olowookere, the Director of Press in the ministry on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Minister of Labour and Employment is holding an emergency meeting after a industrial action threat by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the transmission of the new minimum wage to the National Assembly.

The meeting is scheduled to hold on Jan. 4, at the Minister’s Conference Room by 10:30 am.

Okay Nigeria recalls that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threaten to go on a nationwide protest on Jan. 8.
