Current president Sepp Blatter — seeking a fifth consecutive term — goes up against Prince Ali bin al-Hussein in the elections.

7 officials were arrested over charges that they received over £100 million in bribes, including vice-president Jeffrey Webb.

The 2018 and 2022 World Cups, awarded to Russia and Qatar respectively, are now the subjects of criminal investigations.

The effect of the investigations will however be minimal, as FIFA has ruled that a revote is not an option.
