Finidi George, the head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba, will officially step down from his role on Saturday.

The former international winger, who was recently appointed as the head coach of the Super Eagles, will now shift his focus to his new assignment.

At 53 years old, Finidi George leaves behind a legacy at Enyimba, where he spent three seasons as head coach.

Under his guidance, the Aba giants clinched their ninth NPFL title last season, solidifying their status as one of Africa’s football powerhouses.

With Finidi George’s departure, his assistant, Olanrewaju Yemi, will take charge of Enyimba for the remainder of the season. The club is expected to issue an official statement regarding Finidi’s exit soon.

During his tenure at Enyimba, Finidi George showcased his coaching prowess and leadership skills, guiding the team through numerous challenges and achieving remarkable success on the field.

As he transitions to his new role with the Super Eagles, Finidi George faces the task of preparing the national team for upcoming fixtures, including their first official game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa next month.
