Yola, Nigeria – Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured the newly posted Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Hassan Umar, of full government support to strengthen security across the state.
Okay News reports that the assurance was given during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Yola, where the governor described the police chief as a seasoned and dedicated officer capable of delivering on the mandate of maintaining peace.
Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to close collaboration with security agencies in tackling crime and safeguarding lives and property. He noted that although the state had experienced security challenges in the past, the situation has improved significantly due to sustained cooperation between the government and security operatives.
He also pledged continued support in logistics, intelligence sharing, and personnel welfare to enhance operational effectiveness, while urging the commissioner to maintain professionalism and avoid political interference in the discharge of his duties.
In his response, CP Umar expressed appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to contribute his best efforts toward ensuring peace and stability in the state. He also commended the governor’s strides in infrastructure and governance, describing them as impactful.
The commissioner further called on residents to support law enforcement agencies with timely and credible information, reaffirming the command’s commitment to professionalism, community policing, and the protection of lives and property.
