A fire had on Saturday evening burnt down office of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Qua’an Pan local government area of of Plateau State.

According to reports reaching Okay Nigeria, the fire burnt down everything in the building including Ballot Boxes, Generators, newly printed electronic and manual Voters Register, uncollected PVCs, and other materials yet to be identified.

The incident was said to have been caused by the careless act of the office security guard who was allegedly drunk at the time of the fire and could not raise alarm to quell the inferno.

Osaretin Omohiereobon, INEC head of voters education and public enlightenment, confirmed the incident to our correspondent, were he said the management team from Jos are on their way to Qua’an Pan to assess the situation.
