Nigeria is undergoing a transformative period and is well-positioned to achieve substantial progress under the current administration, particularly with crucial support from both domestic and international partners. This sentiment was expressed by First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, during a meeting with spouses of foreign mission heads stationed in Nigeria, held at her office.

According to a statement released by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady highlighted the ongoing, albeit gradual, positive changes occurring within the nation, expressing confidence that these improvements will be sustained to achieve a greater impact.
Senator Tinubu emphasized her active involvement in addressing key national issues through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which focuses on enhancing the education of Nigerian children, improving healthcare, and uplifting the livelihoods of average Nigerians.
Addressing the issue of the Almajiri children, she reiterated that the challenges, while significant, are not insurmountable.

“When you expressed your desire to assist in educating our population, it was very welcome. Nigeria, being the most populous nation in Africa, presents a substantial undertaking,” she stated. We face the challenge of approximately 18.5 million children within this demographic who lack any form of formal education, primarily those seeking Islamic education. We are actively addressing this, and the scale of the challenge is considerable.” However, as you rightly pointed out, taking incremental steps is crucial. We must not be deterred by the magnitude of the challenges,” she added.

Sigalit Freeman, the wife of the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, leading a delegation comprising the wives of the Guinea Bissau and Canadian Ambassadors, commended Senator Tinubu for her sustained efforts, not only as the First Lady but also for her previous contributions as a legislator and a governor’s spouse.
Mrs. Freeman stated that the group’s visit was intended to acknowledge the First Lady’s commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable populations in Nigeria and to explore avenues for collaborative initiatives.”
