First Lady Remi Tinubu Commemorates Father’s Day, Highlights Importance of Fatherhood Support

On the occasion of International Father’s Day, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, delivered a powerful message urging society to bolster support for men in their roles as fathers.

Addressing the public on Sunday in Abuja, Senator Tinubu praised Nigerian fathers for their unwavering commitment to raising children who embody confidence, responsibility, and compassion. “I salute all Nigerian fathers who dedicate themselves to raising confident, responsible, and compassionate children,” she stated.

She also acknowledged the vital contributions of men who serve as mentors, guardians, and community leaders, stepping into fatherhood roles beyond biological ties. “I also celebrate the men who step into fatherhood roles through mentorship, guardianship, and community leadership,” she added.

The senator emphasized that providing men with an enabling environment is crucial for their effective participation in family life, which in turn strengthens the nation. “Let us continue to give men the support and enabling environment to function effectively as fathers. When fathers are involved, families grow stronger, and so does the nation,” she said.

She concluded by invoking divine blessings on fathers, wishing them peace and fulfillment. “God bless all fathers, strengthen you in your responsibilities, and reward your labour with peace, joy, and fulfillment,” she prayed.
