Ikorodu is fast gaining notoriety for frequent violent clashes between cult groups as the Aye and Eiye confraternities attacked and killed members of each group.

Reports have it that the fight started around 1am during Itunmeko street carnival. It will be recalled that the Lagos State Government and the Police banned street carnivals in December ahead of the yuletide holidays.

According to sources, the trouble started after the Eiye cult group killed two Aye (Black Axe) members who were invited to the carnival as they made their way home. The Aye cult group was said to have taken the fight to Eiye group, in anger, at the wee hours of yesterday, killing three of their members.
