The Police command in Katsina has confirmed the killing of five persons in Faskari Local Government Area by armed bandits on Tuesday.

Okay Nigeria gathered this in a statement by Gambo Isa, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer.

He disclosed that the five persons are members of a local vigilante group called ‘Yan sakai’ were killed at Sabon-layi village of the local government area, after they engaged in a fight with the bandits when they entered a forest.

Isa said the police search team led by the Divisional Police Officer in the area evacuated the corpses and discovered a bandits camp inside the forest that was abandoned by the criminals.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has begun to arrest the bandits — the spokesman confirmed in the statement.
