Foodstuff Store, a leading food tech company, has announced the rollout of its innovative recycling program, marking a significant expansion of its corporate mission to include waste management and recycling solutions.

This move underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The introduction of the recycling program complements Foodstuff Store’s existing services, providing customers with a convenient way to dispose of plastic waste generated from their purchases.

Customers who return plastic waste for recycling will receive credits that can be redeemed for future purchases at Foodstuff Store. This initiative not only encourages eco-conscious behavior but also fosters a cleaner environment.

“We are excited to offer our customers a seamless way to recycle and contribute to a cleaner Nigeria and a cleaner planet,” stated Diana Tenebe, Chief Operating Officer at Foodstuff Store.

“By incentivizing recycling, we aim to promote sustainable practices within our Nigerian communities.”

Plastic pollution poses a significant challenge in Nigeria, fueled by the widespread use of single-use plastics such as sachet water pouches, plastic shopping bags, and take-away containers.

Despite the high volume of plastic waste generated, Nigeria faces recycling capacity constraints, leading to inadequate processing of plastic waste.

The improper disposal of plastics exacerbates environmental issues, including landfill overflow, drainage blockages, and harm to marine ecosystems.

Foodstuff Store believes that collaboration with its customers is essential to address these challenges effectively.

The recycling program empowers customers to participate in environmental conservation efforts while enjoying the quality products and services offered by Foodstuff Store.
