Forbes Magazine has recognized the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, with the Best of Africa Outstanding Corporate Governance CEO Award for 2022.

The virtual award ceremony, which was organized by Forbes in conjunction with the Foreign Investment Network (FIN), aimed to recognize distinguished Africans for their outstanding performances and track records in governance and businesses that have made a significant impact on the lives of Africans and the world.

In his acceptance speech, Inuwa thanked the organizers of the award for the incredible honor and Forbes for their commitment to promoting strong corporate governance practices.

He stated that good corporate governance is essential to the success and sustainability of any organization, as it helps to create a culture of transparency and accountability that fosters trust and confidence among stakeholders.

Inuwa also acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues at NITDA for their hard work and dedication to the agency’s mission and thanked the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), for his guidance, mentorship and unwavering support.

He promised to continue striving to maintain the highest standard of corporate governance and stated that it is an honor to be recognized by such a reputable and respected organization for doing so.

Mark Furlong, the President of Forbes Best of Africa Custom, stated in his welcome remark that the award, which began 15 years ago, recognizes and showcases the successful businesses and economies in Africa.

He said that it has been his personal mission to bring the success, growth and opportunity of modern Africa to the United States’ executive investors and Chief Executive Officers, and that their message of Africa’s success is the truth.
