Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to forgive him for any wrongdoing as Muslims begin the holy month of Ramadan.
Okay News reports that the President made the call on Wednesday during the opening Tafsir at the State House Mosque in Abuja. He urged citizens to embrace unity, peace and moral renewal, noting that this year’s Ramadan coincides with the Christian season of Lent — a development he described as a reminder of shared values such as sacrifice, discipline, prayer and self-denial.
Tinubu said fasting should not be limited to abstaining from food but must reflect kindness, forgiveness, love and good deeds toward others. He called on Nigerians of all faiths to pray for national peace and to support efforts to tackle terrorism, banditry and other security challenges.
The Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Abdulwahid Suleiman, expressed gratitude for witnessing another Ramadan and offered prayers for wisdom, strength and good health for the President and his administration, as well as peace and prosperity for the nation.
