Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54.

Jituboh died on Friday after a brief illness, according to sources close to the family. Efforts are reportedly underway to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Jituboh began his career with Jonathan during his tenure as governor of Bayelsa State, serving as his ADC. He continued in this role when Jonathan became Vice President and later President of Nigeria.

Following Jonathan’s loss in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh returned to active police duties and rose through the ranks, eventually retiring as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in 2023.

During his distinguished career, Jituboh served as DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and later the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at the Force Headquarters. He was at one point considered for the position of Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The Zone 16 Police Command, headquartered in Bayelsa State, has expressed its condolences to the Jituboh family and the people of Bayelsa.

In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Adebola Hamzat, described Jituboh’s death as a significant loss.

“He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service, and integrity can never be forgotten,” the statement read.

The police highlighted Jituboh’s enduring legacy of professionalism, commitment, and integrity, noting that his passing is a profound loss to his family, the people of Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation as a whole.
