Sven-Goran Eriksson, the renowned Swedish football manager who led England’s national team from 2001 to 2006, passed away on Monday at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His agent, Bo Gustavsson, confirmed that Eriksson died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.

Eriksson’s managerial career spanned several decades, with notable successes in Sweden, Portugal, and Italy. He managed top-tier clubs like Benfica, Roma, and Lazio before making history as the first foreign manager of England’s national team. Under his leadership, England reached the quarterfinals of the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
