Abuja, Nigeria – Former senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, who represented the Federal Capital Territory in the Nigerian Senate, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress, pledging to work for the party’s victory in the FCT during the 2027 general elections.
Okay News reports that Aduda was formally received into the ruling party on Tuesday by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, alongside members of the party’s National Working Committee at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
During the event, the former lawmaker assured party leaders of his commitment to strengthening the APC’s presence in the Federal Capital Territory and mobilising political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aduda previously served as Senate Minority Leader during the 9th National Assembly and represented the FCT in the Senate across the 7th, 8th, and 9th assemblies before recently resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party amid internal challenges within the opposition party.
