Mr. Baba was jailed for offences bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, the EFCC said in a statement on Thursday.

The convict was arraigned before Justice Tukur Mu’azu of Kaduna State High Court on January 7 on allegation of defrauding Auwal Ibrahim of Rahusa Investment Limited, Sabon Hunkuyi, Kaduna State in 2011, over a phony gas supply contract.

The victim allegedly paid the convict N1 million for the supply of five trucks of gas at the rate of N200,000 per truck.

“But after the payment was made, the victim neither received the product nor gets a refund,” EFCC said.
