Olusegun-Obsanjo

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo is 78-years-old today, March 5.

Obasanjo was born on March 5, 1938, in Ogun State and grew up in Owu, which is now known as Abeokuta, according to Wikipedia.

He ruled Nigeria as a military Head of State from February 1976 to October 1979 and as a democratically elected President from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007.

He was a founding member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but currently has no political affiliation after ripping apart his membership card.

He has however declared his support for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari.

The former President, on Wednesday, March 4, kicked off celebrations for his birthday with a novelty football match during which he scored two goals and won a golden boot.
