France kicked-off their World Cup campaign in group D with a 4-1 thumping of Australia.

A brace from Olivier Giroud and goals from from Adrien Rabiot and Kylian Mbappe saved the title holders from a shocking defeat after Craig Goodwin gave Australia a stunning ninth-minute lead.

AC Milan striker, Oliver Giroud had more reasons to celebrate as he drew level with Thierry Henry’s all-time record of 51 goals for France.

At 36, the veteran forward who has 115 caps, is the oldest player to score for France at a World Cup.
