Gareth Bale wants to stay at Real Madrid

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is confident the club will not sell him this summer despite interest from Manchester United.

Bale, 27, was a substitute in Madrid’s 4-1 Champions League final win against Juventus after failing to prove his fitness after a three-month ankle injury lay-off.

The Welshman’s disappointing campaign has seen him once again being linked with a move to Old Trafford with United boss Jose Mourinho said to be a huge fan of the former Tottenham star.

United broke the world transfer record to re-sign Paul Pogba last summer and would need to break it again to sign Bale.

The rise of Isco at the Bernabeu has undoubtedly created new problems for Bale in the Spanish capital but he remains confident of retaining a first-team place next season and believes the club want to keep him, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Southampton ace wants to stay with the La Liga giants and believes he can thrive once more by overcoming his injury problems.

Bale’s decision will come as a blow to the Red Devils, who felt a move for the Wales international was more likely now than at any other stage since he left the Premier League in 2013.
