Gas Explosion Kills Three People In Imo State

A gas explosion has killed three persons at the Okpokiri filling station, Orji town in Owerri North council of Imo state.

According to witnesses, the incident damaged part of the filling station on Monday.

It also destroyed part of a bank and primary school building close to it.

Further report showed that the explosion occurred around 5:45 pm with many thinking it was a bomb that had been detonated.

“Initially i did not know that it gas refilling tank at the filing station that had exploded we thought that it was a bomb because of the loud noise which even shattered glass windows around the area,” a witness simply known as Emenike told Daily Sun.

“Explosion killed three of the workers at the filling station as their bodies were scattered every where around the filling station.”
