Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has responded to reports of an explosion at a gas processing plant in Gbarain Ubie, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, confirming that its operations remain unaffected.

Initial reports indicated a pipeline explosion in the vicinity of Obungha and Onopa communities in Yenagoa LGA.

Shell is currently investigating the incident and has ruled out the immediate shutdown of the Gbarain gas facility.

In a statement signed by Andy Odeh, General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, NLNG assured the public that the explosion has no impact on their gas supply or operations.

“Please note that this does not impact the gas supply to the NLNG plant or our operations,” Odeh stated.
