It is the prime ambition of every military officer to attain the status of three star General and also appointed to head the Army of his country and command the entire structure without a failure.

Attaining such a pride entailed the commitment , valour and sacrifice of such a person who had agreed to serve his country and ready to pay a supreme sacrifice, having  accepted to even pay the price of losing his life.

One is also convinced beyond reasonable doubt that hard work, perseverance, courage and resilience makes one to be honoured, recognized by his colleagues in his chosen profession

If the above postulation is anything to go by, General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, can aptly be described as one who had lighted his candle in both ends, having attained the status of a three star General as well as appointed to head the Nigerian Army, at a time when the  security and safety of Nigerian is put to a serious test by  insurgents callously wreaking havoc on the nation.

He came on board as the nation’s number one military officer whose leadership is much revered and accepted by his loyalists who saw him as one who bail them out of despair by restoring their shattered confidence and lost hope.

He was appointed by the president out of unfettered confidence in his ability and capacity to deliver and had left no stone unturned in proving his military capability by sending the  perpetrators of the Boko Haram warfare packing.

The recent Sambisa offensive which led to the elimination of the vestiges of Boko Haram from their dreaded enclaves had portrayed Buratai’s efficacy and bravery in combat situations and is seen to be fearless , intrepid and courageous in the most challenging time of his military career.

His military  record is a stunning success story which had made him to stand tall among his peers and feared no one in the event  the military top military brass is challenge to prove its prowess.

The Sambisa offensive is enough for one to give him the prestigious tittle of  Generalismo as it is done in Russia, since his predecessors had never matched his extra-ordinary record on daring the awesome might of the shameless Boko Haram Jihadists

Buratai’s charming and credible persona  had been a rare gift given to people like him who  courtesy of God’s wisdom are created to serve humanity and allowed to reap the bounties of their life struggle.

His name would undoubtedly be written in gold and his stewardship standing  the test of time, in the face of the inescapable fact that he had made Nigeria proud and proved to his beloved parents that they have never wasted their energy and time in  his upbringing.

With the insurgency rocking the North-eastern part of the country almost reduced to nought, the people of Maiduguri had organized a peace rally which is a clear manifestation that peace, permanent peace in the pipeline.

The rally had undoubtedly opened a new door for close collaboration between the civilians and the military junta in the wake of the great success recorded, and had also afforded both parties the opportunity to create synergy for sustaining the peace on ground.

Operation Zaman Lafiya Dole headed by General Lucky Irabor had been fashioned out to ensure that the vestiges of insurgency were routed out and the objective and mission of the offensive is about to be 100% realized.

Buratai’s success story cannot be completed without appreciating the pivotal role played by the Nigerian Army image maker, Brigadier-General Sani Usman Kukar Sheka who out of sheer commitment and professionalism managed the situation to the satisfaction of
Nigerians and the military personnel operating on the front line.

He had treated complex issues with the dispatch and expertise as a well trained military officer knowing the the art of modern warfare required professional approach and dexterity.

Buratai would in future serve as a role model to young officers wishing to excel and prosper in the Nigerian Army given his unprecedented record of achievements which had  instilled confidence in the minds of those saddened by the fact that the search for a
lasting peace is becoming elusive.

This is the crux of the matter..
