Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Football Association has parted ways with head coach Otto Addo just 72 days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, Okay News reports.
The decision follows a string of poor results, including defeats to Germany and Austria in recent friendly matches. Ghana have also struggled competitively in recent months, missing out on qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and losing their last four games, raising concerns about the team’s form heading into the global tournament.
With the World Cup fast approaching, the Black Stars now face a race against time to appoint a new coach and stabilise the squad ahead of group-stage fixtures against Panama, England and Croatia. The football association says a new technical direction for the team will be announced soon.
