Digital solutions provider Globacom, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, has launched M-Agric, a pioneering agricultural support service designed to guide users through the practical steps of managing successful farming ventures across various sectors, including livestock, aquaculture, cash crops, and value-added processes.

In a statement released by Globacom, the company emphasized that the partnership aims to bolster the state’s food sufficiency initiatives while encouraging young, tech-savvy Nigerians to engage in agriculture. “M-Agric is intended to empower individuals to contribute to food affordability in Nigeria by tapping into the vast potential of the agricultural sector,” the statement read.

M-Agric is a lottery service that provides users with practical tips for growing their own food and generating additional income. The service offers daily, weekly, or monthly agricultural tips directly to users’ mobile devices, and participants can answer trivia questions related to the tips for a chance to win cash prizes, farm equipment, and internship opportunities.

Globacom explained that the subscription rates for the service are NGN 50 per day, NGN 200 per week, and NGN 500 per month. New and existing prepaid and postpaid subscribers can enjoy a free 24-hour trial. “A draw is conducted every week, and participants who have subscribed and correctly answered the trivia questions will be eligible for the lottery,” Globacom noted.

Winners of the lottery will be selected based on their performance in the trivia quizzes associated with each agricultural package. “Only top scorers in the quiz are eligible to win fantastic prizes during the weekly lottery draw. Two winners will be picked among participants with full scores, and they will receive exciting rewards,” the statement added.

To participate in M-Agric, users are required to subscribe by dialing *20791*2# and following the prompts. Subscribers can answer up to three questions daily on the agricultural topic received and stand a chance to win instant airtime or cash rewards based on their quiz performance.
