GOOGLE PLANS LAUNCHING KID FRIENDLY ANDROID APP SECTION

In a post published by Phandroid, Google has sent an email to android developers to submit applications that will go into the
family-friendly section of the Google Play Store.

This is coming shortly after the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) announced a review of how these services collect data on their young users.

If properly done, it becomes a great software development that allows parents to search for applications and games that are a
perfect fit for their children beyond the age ratings.

It is also a good development for the android developers seeing that Google has said that the apps will be prominently featured enabling the families to download the developer’s app easier and quicker.

This development is not to take place immediately since we are not certain of the official date for the launch of the section.

Android developers have however been told to make their submissions by the 28 of May, 2015, same day as the 2015 Google IO.

Does this mean a reduction in the amount of scrutiny that children app developers face?
