Gov. Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar Reshuffles His Cabinet

Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar has effected cabinet reshuffle to reposition his administration for better service delivery.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Shinkafi said the positing and redeployment takes immediate effect.

Shinkafi said some of the Commissioners retain their positions while some swapped positions and some moved to new ministries.

The statement shows that former Water Resources Commissioner, Alhaji Sanda Muhammad Danjari is the new Information, Culture and Tourism Commissioner swapping with Alhaji Umar Jibo Bukkuyum who is now redeployed to Water Resources.

Former Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman is the new Commissioner for Health and the former Commissioner, Alhaji Sule Adamu Gummi is moved to the ministry of Lands and Survey as the new Commissioner while Alhaji Idris Muhammad Keta is the new Commissioner for Rural and Community Development having moved from ministry of Environment.

Also redeployed are former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Muttaka Rini who is now to serve as the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology while Alhaji Mukthar Muhammad Lugga, the former Education Commissioner is moved to the ministry of Environment and Solid Minerals.

Among those who retain their positions are that of Finance, Alhaji Mukthar Shehu Idris, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, Works and Transport, Alhaji Mua’zu Muhammad Nalado, Agriculture, Engr. Lawal Jibril Jangebe.

A government source said the Chairman, Bakura Local Government Council, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji who is the State chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) will be screened by the State Assembly this week for confirmation as the substantive Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
