A celebratory rally in honor of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Supreme Court victory turned chaotic in Ahoada West Local Government Area, marred by alleged actions of youths linked to the Council Chairman.

The initial venue witnessed vandalism of canopies and chairs, prompting a relocation of the program to another location.

Council Chairman Hope Ikiriko later addressed the allegations, emphasizing the importance of local-level thanksgiving events.

Despite initial disruptions, the rally proceeded successfully, with notable attendees including past and current lawmakers, commissioners, and the Governor’s representative.

Chairman Ikiriko urged attendees to conduct themselves appropriately, highlighting efforts to ensure program security. Despite the vandalism, the event drew an impressive crowd, with Governor Fubara’s supporters, including Assembly member Sokari Goodboy, calling for attention from the presidency and police high command regarding the provocative actions.

Governor Fubara’s representative, former Chief Whip Evans Bipi, reassured the crowd against intimidation and threats, dispelling rumors of potential suspensions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The rally also witnessed defections from the opposition party to bolster support for Governor Fubara.

Similar celebratory rallies marking the Supreme Court victory have unfolded across the state, featuring street processions and open-air thanksgiving services as supporters continue to express their allegiance to Governor Fubara.
