Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu Extends Aba Curfew to Friday

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has extended by a day, the three-day curfew he imposed on Aba following a clash between residents and security agents.

The governor moved the end of the curfew by one day to Friday, September 15.

The governor made this known in a statement released by his press secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos.

Ikpeazu advised residents and visitors to cooperate with security agents in order to ensure the maintenance of law and order within the commercial city and its environs.the governor

The governor also called for an end to demeaning acts such as the raising of hands while passing through security checkpoints.

The curfew was instituted on Tuesday as a means to maintain law and order after IPOB members and soldiers clashed in the state.
