Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has taken decisive action, imposing a 24-hour curfew in Adamawa State.

The governor made the announcement on Sunday, July 30, 2023, through his verified Twitter handle, stating that the curfew is necessary to curb the increasing attacks by hoodlums on people and businesses.

One of the incidents that spurred the imposition of the curfew was the looting of a government-owned warehouse at Kwana-waya by angry residents.

Following this, the situation escalated further as the perpetrators also broke into the Central stores located at Barkin Kogi, resulting in the looting of food items.

“Effective immediately Sunday, July 30, 2023, I, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, have declared a 24-hour curfew in Adamawa State due to escalating violence by hoodlums attacking people and businesses,” he said.

“No movement is allowed, except for essential duties with valid ID. Your safety is our priority – please comply for the well-being of all.”
