Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, South-East Nigeria, on Saturday arrived at his polling unit to cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election.
Soludo, who is seeking a second term under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), arrived at Polling Unit 002 located on Umuezeadigo Street in Isuofia community, Aguata Local Government Area, precisely at 1:13 p.m.
The governor’s arrival drew attention from local residents and observers who commended the peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit.
Before election day, Soludo had encouraged eligible voters across Anambra to participate actively in the electoral process, describing the poll as an opportunity for citizens to determine the state’s future direction.
He had also referred to his re-election bid as a “divine project” and a people-driven movement reflecting the collective desire of Ndi Anambra for progress and continuity.
Sixteen candidates from different political parties are contesting in the governorship election, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
