Uduaghan said the project was awarded to Messrs CCC Construction Company Nigeria Ltd. on Aug. 16, 2013 at the cost of N4.1billion.

He said that Effurun  is strategic to the state because it serves as a major link to other states in the South-South region.

The governor also said that the flyover is necessary to ease the daily traffic congestion in the area and by implication, boost economic activities.

”Uvwie is very dare to us because it is like the heart beat of Delta, it can’t be ignored because it serves as a link to many parts of the country.

”If we are not doing anything here, it means we are not doing anything in Delta; Uvwie is very strategic in terms of location in the state.

”So, whatever is done here is necessary,” he said.

The Governor said the Ugbomro road leading to the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE), has been awarded to a contractor, adding that work will commence soon on the road.

He said contract for the completion of the electrification project in Jakpa to terminate at the expressway, has also been awarded.
