Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) on Sunday said Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi is not fighting him but God, boasting that the process to recall him would fail.
People of the senator’s constituency, who recently submitted their recall forms with over 52% signatories to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alleged that they want to recall him for what they referred to as non-performance.
But, the senator alleged that the state governor was sponsoring the process with over 1 billion naira, an allegation the governor had since denied.
Speaking at an empowerment programme of a lawmaker, Hon Solomon Ahwinahwi (PDP-Ughelli North/South/Udu) at Ughelli, Delta state, Melaye said he was fighting a just course and so, the efforts of the governor to recall him would fail.
”I am not only going to get justice but there is no recall programme.
”He is not fighting me, he is fighting God almighty because what I am fighting for is just and true and because in an unjust society silence is a crime,” the Senator said.
