Los Angeles, California, USA – Police in Los Angeles say the Beverly Hills home of pop superstar Rihanna was struck by gunfire on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired at about 1:15 p.m. local time. Investigators later confirmed the property belonged to the singer.
Authorities said a woman in her 30s allegedly stopped her vehicle outside the mansion and fired seven shots before fleeing the scene. Assault rifle casings were recovered near the property.
Police later located the suspect about eight miles away from the residence and took her into custody. Her identity has not yet been publicly released.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Law enforcement sources told local media that Rihanna was inside the home at the time of the shooting.
The Barbados-born singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, recently welcomed her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple also share two sons, Riot and RZA.
Rihanna rose to global fame in the early 2000s with hit songs such as “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella,” and has since built a billion-dollar business empire that includes the Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand.
Police are continuing their investigation into the motive behind the shooting.
