Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Unguwar Wakili community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving at least 10 people dead.

According to local government authorities, the corpses of the victims have been recovered.

In response to the attack, the Zangon Kataf Local Government Council of Kaduna State has declared a 24-hour curfew on Ungwan Juju, Mabuhu, Ungwan Wakili and Zangon Urban with immediate effect. The aim is to allow soldiers to restore peace and maintain security in the affected areas.

Yabo Chris Ephraim, the Special Assistant (Media) to Chairman of the Zangon Kataf Local Government Council of Kaduna State, released a statement regarding the incident.

“The curfew is to allow soldiers to restore peace,” he said.

The police in Kaduna have not yet made an official statement regarding the attack.
