Reports reaching Okay.ng on Monday says that the district head of Yantumaki in Danmusa Local Government of Katsina State, Abubakar Atiku Maidabino, has been killed in his home by unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits.
According to the source, the armed gunmen stormed the district heads’ palace at around 12 am shooting sporadically and scaring off the villagers.
The gunmen killed Maidabino, 60, and also injured one of his security guards, Gambo Chakau.
The funeral rite of the deceased is scheduled for 11 am at his palace.
Gambo Isah, the spokesman of the state police command, confirmed this incident to Okay.ng stating that “investigation is ongoing”.
