Erling Haaland scored twice as Manchester City secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park to maintain their push near the top of the Premier League table.

City took the lead shortly before half-time when Haaland rose highest to head home a cross from Matheus Nunes in the 41st minute. Despite Palace threatening earlier — with Adam Wharton and Yeremy Pino both striking the woodwork — Pep Guardiola’s side remained composed and clinical.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 69th minute through Phil Foden, who finished calmly with a low strike after sustained pressure from City.

Palace pushed for a response but were denied repeatedly, with City’s defence producing a series of crucial blocks to preserve their clean sheet. Any hopes of a late comeback were extinguished in the closing moments when substitute Savinho was fouled by goalkeeper Dean Henderson inside the box. Haaland stepped up and converted the resulting penalty in the 89th minute to seal the win.

The result extends Crystal Palace’s winless home run against City in the league and marks Manchester City’s biggest victory at Selhurst Park. Guardiola’s side now sit just two points behind league leaders Arsenal, recording their fourth consecutive Premier League win.
