Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League table after a 3-0 victory over struggling West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Erling Haaland continued his prolific form with a brace, scoring in the 5th and 69th minutes, while Tijjani Reijnders added the second goal in the 38th minute.

The result extends City’s unbeaten run against the Hammers to 20 Premier League games and marks their seventh consecutive win across all competitions.

Pep Guardiola’s side dominated possession and created numerous chances, with Haaland’s early opener setting the tone after just five minutes. Reijnders doubled the lead before halftime with a well-taken strike, and Haaland sealed the win in the second half, taking his Premier League tally to 19 goals for the season. West Ham, languishing in 18th place with just 13 points, offered more resistance after the break – forcing saves from Gianluigi Donnarumma, including a notable stop from Crysencio Summerville – but failed to find the net. The visitors remain winless in their last six matches and face a tough battle to avoid relegation over the festive period.

The win lifts City above Arsenal on goal difference pending the Gunners’ later kick-off against Everton. For West Ham, the pressure mounts as they head into Christmas firmly in the drop zone.
