Thugs on Saturday attacked the convoy of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki; Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu; and Chairman, Caverton Offshore Support Group, Aderemi Makanjuola at the residence of the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, in Iyamho, Edo.
The trio were returning from the first convocation ceremony of the Edo University, Iyamho.
Makanjuola was named chancellor of the institution at the ceremony.
Crusoe Osagie, Obaseki’s media aide, disclosed in a statement that his boss, Oba of Lagos, and the chancellor were at Oshiomhole’s residence on his call for lunch after the ceremony at the university.
The aide said they escaped the thugs’ attack without injuries.
