Hug a Transformer If You Are Not Happy I Am Working With Tinubu, Wike Tells Critics

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his commitment to working with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite criticism from some quarters.

Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this statement during the PDP Congress in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday.

The former Rivers State Governor emphasized that he has no regrets about his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government and will continue to serve in his capacity as FCT Minister.

Wike’s appointment had sparked debate, with some suggesting it was a reward for his role in Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election.

In a bold statement, Wike told critics to “go and hug a transformer” if they were unhappy about his involvement with the Tinubu administration. His remarks underscore his unapologetic stance on working with the government, despite being the only opposition member in Tinubu’s cabinet.

Wike’s defiance comes as he faces criticism from within his own party, with some PDP members questioning his loyalty and decision to work with the APC-led government. However, Wike remains resolute, asserting that he is “fully in government” and has no intention of backing down.
