Aisha Buhari, the wife of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated her husband on his victory in the Presidential elections.
Buhari beat incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan with over 2 million votes in the polls which held from Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, 29.
Mrs Buhari took to her newly created Twitter handle, @IamAishaBuhari to felicitate with her husband.
“I am so proud of my husband and the team who have worked hard to make this happen,” she tweeted.
“Nigerians are aware now more than ever that the people have the power to sway the fate of a nation. We must see this as a triumphant show of democracy, a change for the better.I am excited for the future of this nation as we now have a mandate for Change,” Mrs Buhari added.
“It has been a gripping day for democracy in Nigeria,” she said.
President Jonathan is also said to have extended his congratulations to Buhari today, March 31 via a phone call.
