The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has stated that he is not aware of any resignation by Super Eagles coach, Finidi George. This comes amidst reports that Finidi has resigned following the NFF’s announcement to hire an “expatriate technical adviser” for the team.
The Super Eagles have had a dismal performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series, with only three points from four matches. The team’s poor performance has sparked outrage among Nigerian football fans, who are still reeling from the team’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Finidi, who took charge of the team in April, is reportedly unhappy with the NFF’s decision to hire an expatriate technical adviser without consulting him.
