DAVIDO-DIAMOND

HKN boss, Davido has claimed he knew nothing about Tanzanian star, Diamond Platinumz until the first time they hooked up to work on the song, ‘Number One’.

Although close observers of the African music scene know that the ‘Aye’ singer played a part in the rise of the Tanzanian star after their duet on the massive collaboration, their friendship reportedly hit the rocks after their social media fight concerning the 2014 Big Brother Africa winner saga.

But speaking on Kenya’s The Trend, while in Kenya to perform at the 5th AfroBeatz Festival, about what informs his choice of artiste to collaborate with, Davido said: ‘Honestly to me, I like good music, if the song is good, I don’t really focus on looking down on the artiste, whether big or small.’

Speaking further, the self-styled O.B.O added: ‘When I did a song with Diamond I didn’t know who he was, that was the first time I heard of him, but I heard the song, I liked the song, I did it, and it turned out to be real good.’
