“I Don’t Want to Talk About this Issue Again” – Enyeama Speaks On Super Eagles Return

Vincent Enyeama has ruled out a possible return to the Super Eagles amid speculation he’ll rescind his earlier decision to quit international football.

Following a tense relationship with erstwhile coach Sunday Oliseh, Enyeama, called time on his illustrious international career that saw him become Nigeria’s most capped player after 101 appearances.

The Akwa Ibom State-born shot-stopper got enmeshed in a row with Oliseh after showing up late for a camp in Belgium following his mother’s death only to discover he’d been stripped of the captaincy, leading to his eventual retirement.

There have been reports he’ll return to the fold following Oliseh’s departure, but the LOSC Lille goalkeeper has moved to quash such notions in an interview with Sports Radio Brilla FM, claiming he is not going to walk down that same road.

“I don’t want to talk about this issue again. I think my earlier decision stands,” Enyeama said.

Meanwhile, interim Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has been directed by the NFF technical committee to submit his programme for the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualification double-header against Egypt.

Committee chairman, Chris Green said the programme should contain the team list and other requirements to ensure a successful outing against group leaders Egypt in the March 25/29 clashes.
