Galatasaray and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has publicly expressed his severe frustration after a childhood friend showed intense ingratitude over a €5,000 financial gift.
Okay News reports that Osimhen shared the personal story to highlight the sheer entitlement often directed at successful athletes by people from their past. According to the Nigerian forward, he sent the €5,000 to help his friend launch a new business venture.
However, instead of showing basic appreciation, the friend complained that the amount was severely insufficient. He allegedly cited news reports claiming Osimhen earns €1 million weekly and boldly stated he had expected at least a €50,000 startup fund.
Infuriated by the ungrateful response, Osimhen noted that while €5,000 might only buy a high-end pair of shoes in Europe, it remains a massive sum of money in Nigeria. He used the opportunity to remind his followers of his incredibly humble beginnings, recalling how he hustled day and night selling bottled water on the streets without a single dollar of support before moving to Europe.
The superstar striker firmly urged people to appreciate whatever financial help they receive rather than carrying a toxic sense of entitlement.
